WHY PRESIDENT WATCHED SUJATHA DIYANI?

President had added that he too watched the story where ‘Changumi’ portrayed a character

The President in his speech made at the Matara, Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya prize distributing ceremony had added that he too had watched the popular Tele-drama ‘Sujatha Diyani’ that was telecast over the Rupavahini in the recent past, particularly as he did not have ‘Sujatha’ diyaniyas. The President advised the daughters in the school to imitate the innocent character portrayed by ‘Changum’ in the Tele drama. What he said in the speech are as follows:
“What became popular as a Tele drama, the ‘Sujatha Diyani’ I too watched whenever I had the opportunity. The reason was as I did not have a Sujatha Diyaniya. It is certain that this Tele drama would have been watched not only by you daughters but also by your mothers and grandmothers. When I used to go visiting to houses I have seen this Tele dram been watched by grandmothers and teachers as well with interest.
All were watching and it became a very popular Tele drama.There was among the daughters, the character ’Changum’...’Changum’ know (laughter). To be like her there may be many daughters who are here?. To have a very honest character you all should be keen, all of you daughters must be dedicated to it, in order to achieve it. For one to possess a very honest character one must lend help to others honestly”
