An era of misfortune was experienced by Sri Lanka due to the war which lasted for more than thirty years. The cause was the quarrels and conflicts between Tamils and Sinhalese which ended in bloody civil war. The current trends predict another unfortunate future due to the Muslim- Sinhala conflicts. It is obvious that certain parties are attempting to arouse ethnic conflicts in Sri Lanka. They also try to use Face book and other social internet networks to achieve their targets. One of their protests is on sabotaging and banning of Muslim services.
A huge protest was organized against Muslims on last Saturday afternoon in front of No Limit branch in Maharagama.
It is reported that an organization called “Sinhala Ravaya” had organized these protests. The police have put iron barriers to make sure that the protestors’ could not enter the shop. Even though, No Limit has filed a case at courts against Sinhala Ravaya National Organization, since they have not been able to prove it with evidence, the decision given o the case was to reconcile. They have stated that due to the protests and the restrictions embarked on them through internet and other media publications, their total income has decreased and that their loss is about Rs 53 lacks per month.
It was said that No Limit has gone to courts against Sinhala Jathika Ravaya organization for causing all these losses. Then, the two parties have come to an agreement and Sinhala Ravaya organization had accused No Limit of insulting the ‘Bikkhus’ and therefore that they owe an apology to the entire nation.
It was reported that Assistant Manager of No Limit has tried to come into terms with the protestors who have been protesting in front of Maharagama branch.It was also reported that the protestors have burnt a statue of King Abdulla on behalf of Thungasiri who has been sentenced to death at Saudi Arabia.
