Handsome lawyer who has been publishing fake marriage proposals has been caught with five wives

A handsome youth who has been taken before courts by the  Cinnamon Gardens Police station due to a complaint made by a woman for stealing gold from her. It had been later revealed that he has taken a pendant worth of two and half lacks from another woman promising her to marry her. It had also been revealed that he has been cheating women promising to get married to them. He has been using three names and it has been found that he has cheated five women and has got legally married to all of them.
He has been presenting himself as Asanka Wijesiri, Ashoka Shakya and Narada Kashyapa and he has been having five different identity cards. He who is said to be a resident of Kegalle has been publishing very attractive marriage proposals in weekend newspapers.
He has been publishing that he is a lawyer and that he owns a lot of assets. Yet, the police have found that he has learnt only up to his G.C.E O/Levels only. Then he has worked a broker and tried his best to become an actor as well. Afterwards, he has thought of starting a business of his own by publishing marriage proposals. People who reply to his advertisements with the hope of getting married to a lawyer, has been checked out by him to see whether they can be made fools.
Then, he has been continuing to be in a relationship with them and he has been cheating them by asking for their valuables by giving various reasons. In between, he has been marrying girls who had responded to his marriage proposal advertisements from wealthy backgrounds. He has been targeting exclusively families where there are no males such as father or brothers. He has been telling them that he is a busy lawyer and that he has to go to travel around for his legal cases. Likewise, he has been leading many family lives at the same moment simultaneously.
He has been having girl friends in many areas such as Kamburupitiya, Dehiwala, Homagama, Kegalle, Mawanella, Awissawella, Kotmale, Warakapola and Horana. He has been legally married to five women at the different times in the recent past. The in-laws who have trusted him have given their valuables to him. He had been pawning jewelry and had showed that money as his income to the women whom he had married.
Further investigation have revealed that already a case for polygamy at Matugama Police station and that there are two more cases against him for stealing valuables. He has continued to cheat women while so many cases have been filed against him. It is reported that he has been earning more than hundred thousand rupees and sleeping with about four or five women per week. It was said that his attractive advertisements have been published even after he has been arrested.
Colombo’s Additional Magistrate, Prabharsha Ranasinghe has ordered to remand him until the 1st of next month and bail has not been allowed..
