MAHINDA’S SCHOOL BALLET AT BADULLA

At the end the student who portrayed Mahinda’s role carried a small girl who was given a doll to her hand danced by lifting her for the audience to see which was applauded by the VIP’s present

Yesterday the ‘National Security Day’ was commemorated in Badulla with a ballet organised by the students in schools in Badulla.  It was culminated with a concert named ‘Disaster to Dawn’ with vivid dance items in a combined creation of a number of students in schools scattered in Badulla was held at the Balalketuwa Madya Maha Vidyalaya. In this concert initially it was illustrated through items how people suffered during the period of the ethnic war.
Later in items it was shown how with the leadership of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa with his able guidance  to the forces how the terrorists were crushed and brought normalcy to the country for people  to live in peace devoid of tension through terrorism.
For a dance item in the latter part a participant had imitated the dress attire of the President in an identical manner with the usual national dress and red shawl and had portrayed the role of the President. This had given to the audience an impression that the Sri Lanka has achieved total freedom from terrorism it is reliably reported. This participant was carried by the child who portrayed the President’s role had been given a doll who had danced with it which had made for the audience to come to life with immense laughter for the performance.
In the audience there were very prominent VIP’s in the likes of the Hon. Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. Ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dullas Alahapperuma, the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province V.J.M Lokubandara were very impressed with the act and manner this dance was performed.  This item had erupted laughter amongst them.
