“Mahasamayama” to be staged in February
A ‘poetic drama’, the first of its kind is been produced by Prof. Ariyaratne Athugala. It is said that this will be a land mark and a milestone in the history of stage drama in Sri Lanka
Several talented artists including Jackson Anthony, Ravi Bandu Vidyapathi, Channa Wijewardana, Shriyantha Mendis, Nishshanka Diddeniya, Chathurika Peiris, Indika Upamali, Madhani Malwatta and Sandun Wijesiri are working on it by portraying numerous roles in this drama.
This historical poetic drama is planned to be held by the beginning of February next year and would be staged at the ‘Nelum Pokuna’ Mahinda Rajapaksa performing arts theatre. Some of the photographs taken during the rehearsals could be viewed from BELOW:
