UNFORTUNATE DEATH OF A LOVABLE WIFE

The story of a very lovable wife who had died of a heart attack after observing her husband been injured after been attacked by a Buffalo

At a time when we normally hear that some wives leave their husbands in search of other men, a really contrary story is reported from Welipoththwela area in Tissamaharamaya. The very loving wife had seen her husband been attacked by a Buffalo and having been injured. On viewing this incident she had got a heart attack purely owing to the immense love she had towards her husband.

In this instance the husband escaped death while the very loving wife died of a heart attack, following the shock and grief which could not bear and tolerate. The deceased is 32 year old Thusahari Nilmini. She happens to be the second wife of one Gunaratna. They had lived together in harmony for 12 years. Gunaratna has had two daughters from her previous marriage who were living together with a son who was born lately. A very kind feature of the deceased was that she never treated the daughters in Gunaratna’s previous marriage differently as a step mother. She treated and looked after the two daughters as if they were hers. The profession of the family was ‘Chena’ cultivation.

Last week Gunaratna had got the information from the neighbours that a herd of buffalos had been damaging their ‘chena’ cultivation and some were loitering around the cultivated area. Gunaratna had immediately gone to the location to chase them away. Unfortunately one angry buffalo who had got disturbed had attacked him with the horns injuring him. He had fallen on the ground bleeding. The neighbours had carried him and brought him home. The loving wife had immediately cleaned the mud on him and the blood stains and with the help of the neighbours had taken him to the hospital in a three wheeler. The neighbours had told his wife to stay behind and look after the children.

She had been in great grief when he was taken away, in the three wheeler to hospital. While watching the three wheeler taking Gunaratna to hospital she had suffered a heart attack owing to the shock and love towards her husband. She too had to taken to hospital in a three wheeler to hospital. Unfortunately she had succumbed to death while on the way to the hospital, inside the three wheeler.
When Gunaratna heard about her sudden death he too was shocked and deeply depressed and he too could not bear the shock and grief.. The two daughters, the son and Gunaratna were in terrible grief and shock during the period of the funeral which was observed by those who attended the funeral.

This sorrowful message of such a loving wife should be conveyed to the whole world.
