S.B’S BROTHER’s ATTEMPT TO COMMIT SUICIDE FOILED

Attempt of Saliya Bandara Dissanayake to commit suicide prevented:

It is learnt that the Chairman of the Central Provincial Council Saliya Bandara Dissanyake, the brother of Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake had made an attempt to commit suicide. Owing to the timely intervention of some close associates his attempt had been foiled. These persons had not allowed accomplishing his desire.
It is learnt that he has gone to his farm which cosnsists of a clay walled small shed. He had tied a knot in ‘thangus’ with a ring and had hung it on a rafter and was about to commit suicide when some close associates had seen and rescued him not allowing him to achieve his desire.
However they had untied the knot and taken him to the Kandy General Hospital He had been examined properly by the doctors and it was confirmed that no damage had been caused to his breathing track in the neck or to any position in the throat.It is leant that he had attempted to commit suicide purely for a personal grouse.
