EXORCIST IN HAUNTED HOUSE

The Exorcist who came to chase ‘devils’ was suspected to be treasure hunter, handed over to the Police:

About stories of digging various places in search of treasures in commonly heard today. It has proved that certain people who pose as genuine Exorcists had made attempts to earn money during these processes.
To get rid of ‘ghosts’/ ‘devils’, the Exorcists usually come after seen something through a process with a light along with his assistants. Many people who believe in this process spend lot money as they want at any cost to get rid of their fear of ‘ghosts’/’devils’.
A youngster who was taken to assist an Exorcist had got frightened for his life had made screams that he was to be killed. The neighbours who heard him scream had come to the scene at the haunted house and had taken steps not only to chase away the Exorcist but also to hand over to him to the Tourist Police station in Negombo. This incident had taken place and reported from a house in the Eththukala area in Negombo.
In this area in Negombo which is a tourist business place an old house is located in the centre of a large coconut estate. The wife of the owner of the house had died earlier and the husband had been living all alone. In the middle of the night the old gentlemen had been seen and heard horror noises of black cats inside the large old house and had really lived in fear. It was his belief that it would be ‘ghosts’ presumably of his dead wife, who were creating this fear and havoc.
He had brought this matter to his friends and neighbours who had advised to seek the advice of an Exorcist, who can see such things unseen through a light. He had consulted an Exorcist in Anuradhapura and had arranged to come to his house to chase away and eliminate the ‘devils’’ from his house.
The Exorcist had arrived at this gentleman’s house the day before yesterday night. He had come all alone and had requested a person to assist him for a wage. A youngster 18 years old was told to assist him. The Exorcist had told the youngster to do exactly what he tells to do. He had arranged flowers on trays and various other religious structures and other things that were needed with the aid of the assistant.
The youngster had been given a coconut to his hand and when he was watching the manner the Exorcist was behaving he had felt suspicious that he had not come to chase ‘devils’ but for some other reason. He had got frightened and had screamed” Isn’t there anyone to rescue me; I am going to be killed”. The neighbours had heard his screaming had come to this house and also felt this was a bogus exercise and had assaulted the Exorcist and handed him over to the Tourist Police Post in Negombo located in the vicinity.
The Police had not believed that this Exorcist is not a treasure hunter or a rogue, but had decided to produce him to courts.
