BAMBALAPITIYA MARINE DRIVE MURDERERS ARRESTED

The green traveling bag left beside the car was a vital clue for the Police to arrest the suspects

Last Sunday afternoon the General Manager of a shipping company was murdered inside his car along ‘shrubbery gardens’ exit point along the Marine Drive close to the Bambalapitiya railway station inside his own vehicle. His neck had been cut with a sharp knife by making him to remain horizontally lied down on his driving seat. Through the investigation the Police had been able to identify the murderers a son and a father on the day of his funeral yesterday the 22nd.
This had been able to be found out when the recent telephone calls to his mobile phone were perused. This was further confirmed when the finger prints found in the car left by the murderers and the sharp knife they had used for the killing were verified which tallied when found during investigations. The knife was found inside a green bag left behind containing tools behind the vehicle.
Before he left the house that particular afternoon he had received a telephone call from a businessman from Kollupitiya with regard to a money transaction that was pending. For this financial dispute there had been a conflict. This businessman’s house was located in Wellawatta. When the Police visited the house the father and son who murdered had not been at home. The Police had been very tactful and shrewd having asked them of a certain green gag. They had confessed that it belonged to the murderers. it is usually kept at his business place she had quipped.
The Police went behind this clue and had no doubt in suspecting him to be the murderer. They had confessed that they killed the General Manager of the shipping Company. The car was requested to park at the exit of the ’Shrubbery Gardens’ road close to the Marine Drive and to the Bambalapitiya railway station. The business man had sat on the rear seat while the son had sat on the front seat. For the proposal of the financial transaction had not been in agreement with the General Manager of the shipping corporation. The businessman after making the deceased to lie horizontal on his driving seat had pulled out a sharp knife from his green bag and had stabbed his neck until he died. They had switched on the blinking yellow rear lights on the rear of the vehicle and proceeded towards the Bambalpitiya railway station, taken a three wheeler and gone home as innocents.
The funeral of Vijith de Soysa had taken place at the Kirlaponne cemetery on the 22nd,i.e yesterday On the same day the murderers were arrested by the Bambalapitiya Police and are to be produced before courts:.
