Has Malaka’s study visa got rejected?
It is said that he is going for a 10 day tour only:
Malaka Silva was taken before the courts regarding the case of attacking a Major. His lawyer had told the courts that Malaka will not be able to be present on the next hearing as he is planning to go to USA for his higher education. The lawyer also made a sarcastic remark saying that there is a possibility of Malaka becoming a future Education Minister. Afterwards, Malaka in an interview to a Sunday newspaper had stated that he had been in America some time ago and that he will be going abroad once again due to the problems he had to face.
Now it seems that his journey and his plans have changed a bit. It is not clear whether he was unable to get a student visa or whether there was any reason behind that. This has been revealed as his lawyer had forwarded a motion to the courts changing the statement he had made earlier.
Malaka’s lawyer had stated that Malaka who is on bail is planning on a tour for 10 days and that he will be staying in Sri Lanka after the 20th of this month. The lawyer had told the courts that the previous statement made by him on Malaka’s higher studies is a false one which had been a mistake. Thus, he had requested the courts to allow Malaka to be out of the country for that period of time.
