TWO CHILDREN STABBED TO DEATH IN GODAKAWELA

The children who had laughed seen their mother sleeping with an informal youngster, in order that this incident would be made public, the latter had stabbed the two children.

The informal youngster after hiding in the premises of a house behind for a moment had tried to escape wearing non fitting pair of jeans and a blouse picked from a garden line in a neighbouring house:
It has been reported of an unfortunate incident from Pallebedda Galpaya village in Godakawela, where an illegal lover had killed two children aged 11 years and 6 years with a sharp chopper picked up from the kitchen of the same house. The illegal lover is supposed to be a nephew of the children’s mother 34 years old had been a constant visitor to this house.
The illegal lover had been sleeping with his aunt in the front room of the house when the latter had thought the two children were fast asleep. The two children had heard a noise from the front room. They had come and peeped into the room and had seen their mother having fun with the yougster on the bed without any attires. The illegal lover had thought that this incident would be spread by the children had decided in anger to kill them.

The story and the incident are as follows:

The father of the two children is employed in Colombo. He comes home only twice a week. It was known to many around the area that a 19 year old youngster, supposed to be a nephew of the children’s mother is a constant visitor to this house. The neighbours had suspected that had been an illegal love affair between the nephew and the aunt. He used to come in a motor cycle making a loud noise from his silencers of the bike disturbing the neighbours. This youngster usually visits in the nights. The story of this illegal love affair had spread among the villagers.

On the last Poya day the father of the children had left to Colombo in the afternoon as he had to report for duty on the following day. The youngster knowing very well that he would not return on that day had visited the house in the late evening. As he was a cousin brother the children who also knew him well.

After the children had gone to bed and thinking they were fast asleep the mother and the illegal lover had gone to the front room to have their usual fun. For some reason the two children had got up after hearing some noise had rushed into the front room as to what was the reason. For their astonishment they had seen their mother in bed with their cousin brother without any clothes on them. In shame and embarrassment they had retired into another room and had been discussing while laughing after seen the ugly scene.
When the children saw this scene the illegal couple did not know what to do. The mother had felt very ashamed about the incident while the informal youngster had jumped out of the bed sans his clothes and had been very angry and had gone to the children’s room and said “I will Kill you”. The youngster had thought that this incident would be reported to their father. Then he had gone to the kitchen and had brought a sharp chopper knife and had attacked both children. The mother who rushed to save the children also had cut injuries and all were bleeding profusely. While they were chopped there were loud screams which were heard by the neighbours. There had been a ‘bana preaching’ ceremony in a nearby house. For this incident to happen it had taken only about two minutes.

By the time the neighbours rushed in the youngster had fled away into hiding in the garden of a house behind.When the neighbours saw the three bleeding and in a pool of blood they had been rushed them to hospital. The 6 year old child had died on the way to the hospital. The 11 year old had died while he was transferred to the Ratnapura hospital. The mother who had less injuries had been treated in the Godakawela hospital itself.

After the injured were taken to hospital some neighbours after about 10 minutes had seen a person trying to start a motor bike, but dressed in peculiar attire. A denim trouser which did not fit him, a blouse worn as a shirt which also did not fit him. He it is learnt had been hiding in the compound of a house behind this house had picked up some clothes that were on a line in the compound of a neighbouring house kept for drying. The neighbours had caught this informal youngster, the culprit for these injuries to the Police.
The accused had made a confession to the Police that he took this course of action as the secret of his illegal love affair would be made known and that is the reason he wanted to kill all of them.

The accused is to be produced before the Embilipitiya Magistrate courts. The mother of the children is still in the hospital. It is learnt very reliably that this woman had lived happily in the village having all comforts. As she got entangled in this illegal affair with her nephew the price she had to pay was losing her both children.
