PHI’s DEATH & SUSPECT’S MENTAL ILLNESS

The person who killed the PHI by striking with a pestle is a mental patient:

It is reported that the person living in a residence in Kantale who killed  a PHI yesterday morning when he to inspect his house for ‘dengue mosquitoes’ was revealed to be a person having a true mental illness and one who is taking psychiatric treatment.
It has been revealed that this person once had been working as a civil security guard in a private security firm. He had been dismissed from service for trying to shoot one of his colleague security guards.
It was also confirmed that he is under psychiatric treatment from a hospital and is attending a hospital mental clinic. The Police had been able to prove about his mental health as they found some tablets that he was taking for his mental illness.
The argument had first begun with his wife. On hearing this conversation the suspect had brought a pestle from inside the house and had yelled “there are no dengue mosquitoes here”, before striking the PHI blows with the pestle.
It was also learnt that a few days he had chased his wife and children from home. One other day he had eaten poisonous”Aththtana” seeds. This was revealed by the neighbours.
In connection with the murder of the PHI all PhI’s in the country is staging a protest strike and demonstrations The motive of this protest is to remind the higher authorities to commence an exercise to give protection to PHI’s while performing their duties.
