Nimal Lakshapathi had felt a feeling of tiredness after returning from a tour abroad:
At the time of his sudden demise it is learnt that he was 58 years old. During his last days he had worked tirelessly to put on track the new TV channel the ‘HIRU TV’. He had left on a holiday tour abroad after he had worked until the 31stof last month.
He had opted to take a rest by going on a tour abroad for a week or two. After his return he had felt tiredness in him. He had got a heart attack the day after he returned from abroad.
He had lived at No 40/7, at Bullers lane, Colombo 7 with his only son. His elder daughter had been away in Australia for higher studies. At the post mortem his son Prasad Lakshapathiarachchi had this to say:
“My father is the person who has died. He was suffering from Diabetes and Cholesterol and was taking Ayurvedic treatment. On the 20th when I phoned him he said he is having chest pains. When I came to see him one of his friends had removed him to hospital. The doctors at the hospital did everything possible to revive him. But he passed away following a heart attack. His death was a natural death; the cause was a ‘heart attack’.”
His remains are lying at No 40/7, Bullers Lane,Colombo 7 and his funeral is to be held at the Borella, Kanatte on Monday evening.
