NEW METHOD FOR TEACHER RECRUITMENT

Hereafter the transfers will be given to far-away schools; if they do not report to work the appointments will be cancelled

When transfers are given to far-away places, many teachers try to change it somehow. Thus, very few qualified teachers come to villagers.
As this has been happening over a period of time, the quality of education has decreased and the students in the villagers have created a lower estimation of themselves for not being able to go to schools in the town. Accordingly, social differences have been created.
As an alternative, the president has made a new proposal. Expressing his views in a special development committee meeting in Matale, he had stated that the appointments will be given to the hands of the principal and not the teachers. Thus, the teachers will be called by the relevant school and if they do not go to collect it, it will be regarded as them leaving the job.
He stated that this method will be activated in the near future.
