The story of Minister Mervin who had travelled in a bus as his official vehicle had disappeared:
The Minister Mervin Silva had gone to Hasalaka area for an official function had been confronted with a peculiar incident. That is for having to travel in a bus after a long time. The reason for it was because his official vehicle had disappeared. What was reported is as follows:
Minister Mervin Silva had visited for a mobile meeting at a school in Hasalaka. He had travelled carefully with the driver and security officer safely to the destination. He had entered into the school and was not aware as to what time the meeting would be over.
The crew also were also unaware as to what time the meeting would be over and gone to a nearby boutique and have had friendly conversations with the villagers.
When Minister Mervin Silva came out of the meeting he found his vehicle missing. As there were no ‘signals’ to use his mobile phone he decided to travel by bus to”teach his crew a good lesson”. He proceeded to the nearest bus halt and boarded a bus on route to Kandy coming from Mahiyanganaya. When he was seen by the commuters they observed him to be person well known and were looking at each other.
One passenger quipped that “he is the person who tied a Samurdi Officer to a tree”, while another one said that he things that “he is the person who was painted red by the staff of Rupavahini corporation”.
He had travelled a distance of about 3 kilometers and was travelling towards a town, when the driver and security personnel had telephoned him and had come to pick him up from the bus. They had apologised for their lapse and had travelled towards Colombo after having had a good laugh at the peculiar incident of the Minister having had to travel by bus.
