BADDEGAMA PRINCIPAL IN SCHOOL CUSTODY

The new Principal who arrived to take over post of Principal was kept under ‘House Arrest” along with a Directress of Southern Educational Division:

Galle District Member of Parliament Nishantha Muthuhettigama had intervened with the help of the Police and got them released.
Yesterday the 12th the newly appointed Principal of St.Anthony’s Maha Vidyalaya, Baddegama accompanied by a Directress of the Southern Education Division had come to take over the post of Principal of the school.
 The teachers and students of the school had kept both of them under ‘House Arrest” for a period of two hours. It has been revealed that this appointment had been made without the knowledge and permission of the Director of Southern Division Education Office.
When this incident was made known to the Galle District Member of Parliament, Nishantha Muthuhettigama he had come to the rescue along with the Baddegama Police and had taken steps to for the release of the new Principal and the Education Directress before he could take over the post.
In this regard the Member of Parliament Nishantha Muthuhettigama had quipped that the teachers of this school had been instrumental in instigating and misleading the parents and the students to perform this act. He had vouched that he will have negotiations with the Authorities of the Southern Division Educational office and get him recruited as the Principal of the same school.
