NOTORIOUS MONK AT SOUTHERN EXPRESS HIGHWAY

ON THE SOUTHERN EXPRESS HIGHWAY KIRULAPONE’S NANDA THERA GETS IRRITATED, PLAYS HAVOC:

Along the express southern highway a vehicle had travelled flouting all laid down stipulated regulations. The passengers were a Buddhist Monk and to other laymen. The vehicle did not have the break lights functioning and in good order. The vehicle had passed the Pinnaduwa entrance point without purchasing an entrance ticket. The Police are in search of this vehicle by making investigations.
According to unconfirmed reports it is learnt that the culprit is Kirilapone’s Nanda Thera who is supposed to be a well respected pious monk. It is a stipulated laid down regulation that vehicle without the rear break lights functioning properly are prohibited in travelling in the newly built southern express highway. Besides this deficiency the vehicle had fled past the Pinnaduwa entrance point without a ticket and fled away.
At the Kottawa exit point the vehicle had been stopped. The security personnel had told the Thera and the two other passengers to wait for a while until some security personnel who had left the point to a nearby exit point returned. The Monk and his two associates had repeatedly pleaded to let them go as they could not waste time. In the meantime to other Monks had come in a three wheeler in support of Nanda Thera.
All had got very irritated and they had fled away in the vehicle by breaking the gates at the Kottawa new southern express’ highway’s main exit point saying they cannot wait for those who had left for another inquiry.”We cannot wait here anymore and get delayed was said in a loud angry voice”, were the words used by the Thera who was later confirmed to be Kirulapone’s Nanda Thera.
Those in charge did not agree with the action of the Thera. This Thera and the other two monks who came in a three wheeler had used obscene language at the officials that  monks should utter.
