Double murders at Kahawatta revealed

The murderer who found the Siba has confessed that he is did the murders
The reason has been due to a gem mine

There was another double murder at Kahawatta in Ratnapura which is now famous for murders. This was on the last 31st before three months passed after the dual murder of a mother and daughter. A 61 year old widow and her sister who had been 51 years old were killed and the house was set on fire to show that they died of getting caught to a fire.
The police have been able to find the murderers within 5 days. Police dog Siba had been useful in the investigation to find the murderer. This incident took place on the 31st of last month spreading terror around Kahawatta one again. The villagers have said that the two sisters namely: Dayawathi and Thilakawathi had been innocent and that they had not had any enemies. They had only one sister alive who had also lived close by.
On the 31st night too, the sister who had been living close by had stayed till late in the night chatting with each other and she had left in the night. In the night the villagers who had seen the house on fire had gone to rescue them but their dead bodies which have been burnt have been lying on the bed.
Everyone had suspected after seeing the dead bodies lying on the bed. First they have suspected that the cause of fire to be electrical leakage. But later on when the grill of a window have been slightly detached from each other, everyone had suspected it to be a murder.
It was found in the post mortem that there had been cuts by a sharp instrument in the body before they were burnt.
In between the police carried further investigations about the murder and a police dog called Siba was able to sniff the window and the grill and to find the murder. The dog stopped near a water tap and in that house, the police was able to find a person with bruises. He was arrested as a suspect and it was found that the suspect is a nephew of the two dead sisters.
During the investigations, the police had suspected the nephew as he has been loitering when the post mortem was carried.
It was reported that the suspect had been a son of a sister who had died sometime ago and he had been the heir to the land and the property in which these two sisters have lived. He was to on the land legally only after the two sisters die. The police have heard a rumour that there had been quarrels between the two parties for the land.
The police have started to make inquiries from the suspect two days ago. K.A Nanda had confessed yesterday (4th) and he had accepted that he had done the two murders. He had told that he had killed his aunts as there have rumours of a gem mine in that land and he had done the murders to own the land. The tow dead aunts have been rich within a short period of time and he had asked to write a piece of land on his name and they have rejected his proposal and thus he had ended up killing them. He has killed them using a machete and he had burnt them after wrapping them in clothes to avoid it been suspected as a murder.
The Police was able to catch the murderer with the help of the police dog. Further investigations are carried out.
