NO RED WARRANTS FOR DUMINDA SILVA

Duminda cannot be issued with red warrants

For Baratha’s killing Member of Parliament Duminda Siva cannot be issued with warrants was disclosed by Additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis at today’s hearing.
This has been owing to the CID who has failed to provide the necessary information. In the earlier hearing Duminda Silva’s father giving evidence had quipped that his son is under treatment in a hospital in Singapore and as supposed to be in a very critical condition,  hence it is not at all prudent to arrest him.
Lawyer Anuja Premaratna who is appearing for the suspects had told courts that Hirunika is spreading stories that she is under death threats purely because it might help out in her cause of attempting not to allow the suspects in custody bail. However the CID had informed that the CID is continuing with the investigations in regard to her death threats as ordered by courts.
M.P. Duminda Silva is under treatment at the Mount Elizebeth Hospital in Singapore. It was earlier made to know that he would not get any relief from courts. Over ruling those orders the Chief Magistrate Sunil Rajapaksa had said he could get assistance from his senior lawyer Hemantha Warnakulasuriya. It was earlier made to know that by Baratha’s lawyer Tirantha Weralyadde that Hemanatha Warnakulasuriya cannot appear on behalf of Duminda Silva on the orders of the additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis.
The case was requested to be heard at the Colombo’s Chief Magistrate’s Courts. Hence the Attorney General and the CID have been named to answer for this case.
