The Ratnapura District, UNP Member of Parliament, Dunesh Gankanda who disappeared from the Galle Face Hotel after assaulting and biting the nose of a businessman had a little while ago surrendered to the Police along with a Lawyer. He is to be produced before courts to day itself.
M.P. is missing after causing damage to the nose of a businessman by biting:
Last Saturday night at a certain function held at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo Member of Parliament for the UNP in the Ratnapura District, Dinesh Gankanda as found to be in a drunken state. He has had a small argument with a businessman by name Divakara. After assaulting and biting his nose he had escaped and up to now he is missing and the Police are on the hunt for him.
At the of the incident the M.P who was drunk had confronted the businessman and questioned him “Are you a relation of mine or not”?
The answer the businessman had given was that “I am not anybody of yours”. While saying “Okay that’s good” the M.P had assaulted the businessman Divakara and had escaped after biting his nose. As he was bleeding those in the vicinity had rushed him to a hospital nearby for treatment.
The Police who are on the hunt for Dinesh Gankanda are yet to find his whereabouts to arrest him.
