FOOD PRICE HIKE AFTER AVURUDU

Price hike of gas, milk powder and bread after the New Year:

Super markets have already raised the prices of some of the consumer goods:
It is reported that the prices of some of the essential goods along with gas, milk powder and bread will be raised after the New Year. Since, the prices of gas and sugar, milk powder and corn floor will go up, accordingly, the prices of bread and other bakery items too would be automatically raised.
Even though the intention of the Government was to raise the prices before the New Year, the Government had delayed that action considering that there would be pressure from the general public. Still the Government cannot go long with the same prices due to the hike of the import taxes, and the hike in the US dollar
Apart from the import tax, the value of a dollar has been raised. Hence the prices of all the goods that are imported from other countries will be naturally have to be raised. It was also reported that a particular Super market network have already increased the prices even before the New Year. Many companies who import goods have showed that they have imported fewer goods owing to the hike in the dollar.
