First shots were fired by Bharatha’s bodyguard
-Analyst’s report:
The Bharatha’s murder case was taken up at the Magistrates courts yesterday. While giving evidence the CID inspector Shani Abeysekara had disclosed that he had received the Analyst’s report and on perusal of it, it has revealed that the first shots had been fired by Bharatha’s faction.
According to this report in self defence Duminda’s faction may have fired. This was a clue that the CID Inspector given to the Magistrate. According to his version while Duminda and Bharatha were having a serious verbal confrontation, Bharatha’s private bodyguard Randunuge Gamini had fired first at Duminda.
It was confirmed by the fact that two empty fired bullets had been found in the vicinity. President’s Counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya had shown to the Magistrate 19 photographs that were taken after the serious operation which included photos of X-rays proving conclusively that bullets had penetrated and gone through his head. He also has disclosed that Duminda was looking down when gun shots were fired at him.
According to reports it had revealed that Duminda and Bharatha have had a clash and during which Bharatha had fallen down and Duminda had fallen on top of him.
The Lawyers who appeared for Bharatha had totally disagreed about these comments as there is no conclusive evidence to prove what was said.
All suspects were ordered to be further remanded until the 3rd of January when the case would be heard again was advised by the Additional Magistrate, Prasanna Alwis.
