AL RESULTS BUNGLE

Advanced Level bungle still unresolved:
Whom to tell?
Who will listen?

The Advanced Level results after necessary rectifications have been released to the internet. However what the students say is that the results published cannot be taken for granted to be precise.
Some have received the identical incorrect results with the District and Island Ranks. Those who had obtained higher marks have received unbelievable District and Island Ranks. This has caused amongst them to be suspicious about the results released.
The errors detected which revealed and proved that the students who sat for Maths have received Arts results. Those who sat for Science had received Arts results. Ranks had been given according to MSQ marks. Another noticeable blunder is that those who repeated the exam had received the identical marks. Hence it is hard to believe that the errors had been rectified properly.
Considering these allegations it is a pity and a sad situation that the authorities of the government are not giving this matter proper acceptable solution. According to the version of Higher Education Minister, S.B.Dissanayake, it is only a “small matter”. The Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education the District or Island Ranks are only additional data and they do not affect the admission of students to the Universities.
The Inter University Union Leader has advised not to accept these results. If accepted or not when the Government releases the results it has to be treated as accepted. The final decision has been given. The results issued after rectification do not have the belief And confidence of the students.
The overall results are “messy”. Unfortunately the authorities are yet to understand it.
