A Police Sergeant shows dissent inside a cement barrel

It is strictly prohibited for any member of the Police Staff show dissent for incidents within the respective Police stations for matters pertaining to their personal problems. If any injustice is meted out any person of the staff in a Police station it has to be brought to the notice of the higher authorities in writing or through any other internal source. If this is not obeyed the member of staff in whatever grade will have to be subjected to face disciplinary charges. This type of investigation would be bringing negative results to the member of staff concerned.
Because of this we hardly hear of such occurrences among any Police officers indulging in protests, fast on to death etc. Despite of this norm a Police Sergeant attached to Gampola police Station had defied the rules, which had been unheard earlier, had acted in complete contrast to the normal regulations that all members of the Police have to adhere to. For some personal grievances he had shown dissent by staying inside a concrete barrel in the centre of the city of Gampola.
On hearing about his unruly behaviour Police officers had come and taken him to the Gampola Police Station. Those who saw the incident had even to give statements to the Police. The Sergeant had quipped to the higher authorities about his grievances.”I have served the Police Department for 29 years. I have served in many Police Stations. I have never been subjected to any abuse. But the higher Police officers tend to take revenge from me. I have been transferred to here and there at irregular intervals. I need justice be meted out to me.”
In this regard the Higher officers in the Police had quipped that he will be dealt with disciplinarily action accordingly, as no Police employee is allowed to break the code of conduct which he has broken in this instance case.
