BHARATHA’S MURDER NOT CLEAR –DRIVER SAYS!

Magistrate Court’s hearing of Mulleriyawa clash
New words added to driver’s evidence.

Previously having said Duminda fired at Bharatha, the driver today had quipped that he was not sure whether he was shot or not, contradicting what he said earlier.

In today’s court proceedings in Colombo Magistrate courts when the Bharatha-Duminda clash was taken up and heard, to the first evidence given by Liyange Saman Perera he has added another version in the form of evidence. When he was cross examined said that although Duminda shot at Bharatha he was not certain whether Bharatha received the gun shots aimed at him.
Previously he had quipped having seen Duminda shooting Bharatha. Although it was firm evidence earlier, but however after today’s version his evidence is going to lose weight according to the lawyers.
In the meantime Duminda’s driver Balasuriyage Chaminda says it was Duminda who fell first, but Bharatha who was standing was evading and ducking at the gun shots. What reveals from the evidence is that when Duminda had fallen Bharatha was alive.

Deshabandu was also near Duminda
It was revealed to courts during the hearing that SSP in charge of Nugegoda,Deshabandu Tennakoon and OIC Mulleriyawa Police were at the time behind Duminda’s convoy of vehicles and both had seen the incident.
The hearing of the case is still proceeding under the Colombo Additional Magistrate, Prasanna Alwis.
