FOOD POISONING AT COLOMBO’S FIVE STAR HOTEL

Specialist Doctors among those Food poisoning Victims At Colombo’s 5 Star Hotel.

It is only rarely one hears about food poisoning at 5 Star hotels, although it had been heard in other hotels, canteens and eating places.
A group of doctors had consumed food at a 5 star hotel in Colombo during a seminar organised by the GMOA, yesterday. It was reported that some of them were Specialist doctors have been admitted to hospital for food poisoning including the children of some doctors, who also had been victims.
It is also learnt that on a previous occasion there had been a similar food poisoning incident at the same 5 star hotel. It is also learnt that this particular 5 star hotel had failed to obtain the related certificate from the Colombo Municipal Council for the current year although reminders had been sent in this regard. The Doctor in charge of this hotel has failed to obtain this certificate from the Municipal Council flouting all rules and regulations.
