Probation and Child care Department on the orders of the courts assign the orphan children to various children’s homes and the entire responsibility of the children’s care lies on the Authorities of the Probation and Child care Department. These homes are normally run on funds received from Non Governmental Organisations. The orphan children are made to work on some small industrial projects after training. They have at most times have had to work like slaves. They have been scared to disclose their sufferings in addition to ‘abuse’.
At the Ja-Ela “Harvest” the orphan children had been subjected to child abuse for a long period of time. They had kept silent as they were so helpless, but they divulged the grievances when produced to courts.
The owner of the children’s home was remanded until the 29th on the orders of the Additional Magistrate Miss Yvonne Fernando.

  2. Thomien yes I agree!!!! But the most honest people who serve deserving children who suffer are the ones who are blamed. It's sad that such organizations are victims of such accusations.

Lets make an effort to protect such non profitable organizations to help innocent children of this Island!!! Let's unite and protect such efforts for the children of our nation. God Bless you all!!!!

  4. just because a person is accused it does not mean they are guilty. Before making these accusations why dont people wait to see the verdict. pleople from church have for decades helped children and the misfortunate of this island.
it takes a lot to run such a non profitable organisation. since i am sure there might be families and reputaqtions involved, please let us not come to any conclusions.

  6. Justice will prevail for those who are God's people. Those plotted this will pay for agony caused to the accused and to his family. No one is perfect as the so called people who are qucik to judge beleve and consider them all righteous. Take a good look at yourselves you who are quick to judge, you probably have a real 'can of worms' somewhere inside you. This man has been framed by the Clergy. Justice will prevail, it sure will. So back off you sinners!!

  7. no one has the right to judge others, if script ion is quoted 'Anyone out there who has not sinned can point fingers at the so-called accused,
no, we all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. So it is better to leave judgment to God.

  9. "Judge not that ye be not judged - condemn not that ye be not condemned" (Jesus Christ - St.Luke 06:37)

"Ye judge after the flesh - I judge no man" (Jesus Christ - St.John 08:15)

"... the rod of the stem of Jesse ... shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears" (The Holy Bible - Isaiah 11:01-03)

Jesus Christ "when He was reviled reviled not again, when he suffered he threatened not; but committed himself to Him that judgeth righteously" (1.Peter 02:23)

Let Christians leave the judgment and pronouncing of a verdict of guilt to authorities appointed by God for such purpose. Let the accused (if Christians) follow the example of Jesus Christ and commit themselves, rather than the accusers, nor witnesses, nor attorneys, nor jury, to the One ho judgeth righteously.

  10. If according to comment 6 "this man has been framed by the clergy", and if such clergy is Christian clergy, the elders of the church (organization) should seriously consider and reconsider the methods of ordination and appointments of office, and whom they ordain or appoint into the ministry and such offices, and develop methods and systems to prevent Christians appointing themselves as "independent ministers" or at least control or manage persons who do so. It is sad to note that, if what is alleged has taken place, why this 'clergy' (if Christians) could not correct or settle this issue among themselves. - St Paul says, "I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?" (1.Corinthians 06:05)

Even if the accusers or the clergy who exposed this case are non Christians, it is time for the church (organization) to consider the impact mushrooming "independent churches" have made, and take defensive action.

  11. May the God of truth stand up for His servant in his time of need. May the truth be revealed and every lie and deception of the enemy be exposed. Jesus I pray you arise and let your truth prevail in this case. I am shocked at what the media has written. I know for a fact that these children were never treated like slaves and if you ask the children at the home they will tell you this man has been to us like a father. These children were sent to school, clothed, fed and I personally taught them English. And these children never have they even once made any complaint even when I used to ask them if there was anything personal they wanted to share. They were all very happy children. This is a total lie and a planned accusation to bring down the Church, The Family and the work of God. God will deal with those who are behind this.

  13. May he rot in hell....I cant believe I helped this home recently. we did it with the goodness of our hearts thinking of the children.

I hope he gets the death panelty 'IF' found guilty!

PPl can leave all the gospel readings aside....this has nothing to do with God or his teachings...this is PURE EVIL !!

  14. 13-"we did it with the goodness of our hearts thinking of the children" bless you for that. But this is fabricated story by the 'forsome' whose names will be revealed in due time....these girls were made to give false evidence by that 'foursome' and also the chil protection bureau!

  15. How dare you people blame all the poor kids. Open your eyes and look around. Abuse is every where in my country, where minors are been silenced by their own mothers and family because of he shame it brings them. For once stand up to the accusers and listen to the victims. With out criticizing them. May be God finally did hear their voices and their prayers were answered. Here all they care is money and power and not their children any more.

  16. Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
