Paba-Mahesh divorce granted

The Member of Parliament Upeksha Swarnamali and Mahesh Chaminda’s divorce case taken up for hearing at the Colombo district courts this afternoon. The judgement was given in favour of both for the divorce.
The official vehicle of Upeksha Swarnamali is still in the possession of Mahesh Chaminda.He was ordered to return the vehicle within the next three days. it was also ordered to close their joint bank accounts also within the next three days. Both were ordered by courts to refrain from slinging mud at each other either politically or at personal level in the media.
In the month of February 2011 Paba was assaulted by her husband and was hospitalised and since then they have lived separately. After today’s verdict the divorce was granted to be separated legally.
Even before they got married they have had conflicts.
