Europe's airspace faced severe disruption yesterday due to a wave of sudden bomb threats targeting passenger aircraft. Several flights connecting major European cities were subjected to serious risk and urgent inspections due to these threats, and European authorities later confirmed that all of them were completely false alarms made with the intention of disrupting air travel.

One major incident in this series of threats was reported on a Ryanair flight carrying 185 passengers from Dublin, Ireland, to Sofia, Bulgaria. Upon arriving in Sofia following news of a bomb threat, the aircraft was subjected to a thorough search, but security forces confirmed that no explosives were found. Bulgarian Transport Minister Georgi Peev commented on the matter, stating that two flights traveling to Sofia from Dublin and Bergamo had received similar bomb threats.

This wave of false threats did not end there. Another Ryanair flight en route to Rome received a bomb threat via email, and after thorough inspections by security forces, it was officially confirmed that no explosives were present. Concurrently, a LOT Polish Airlines flight from London Heathrow Airport to Warsaw, Poland, was diverted to another airport due to suspicion of a bomb on board. After the aircraft, carrying 181 passengers, landed safely, emergency response teams thoroughly searched the plane, but no suspicious materials were found there either.

It has not yet been definitively revealed which group is behind the false calls and email messages that disrupted European flights and put hundreds of air passengers at severe risk. However, it is suspected that a group of malicious individuals abroad may be behind this act, and authorities and security forces in the respective countries have already launched extensive investigations into the matter.
