Although the news that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been hospitalized is true, the rumors circulating that he is in critical condition are false, says his media spokesperson, Attorney Manoj Gamage.
“The story that he is in critical condition is completely false. He is not in such a critical condition. However, given his age, he is usually admitted to the hospital for various medical tests and treatments. Such an admission has been made today. So, doctors will examine him and decide on his medical conditions. But these rumors about him being critical,
The propaganda circulating that he is mentally down is completely false. Because he is not someone who can be mentally brought down. We know that the government's intention is also to bring him down. But that is not something that can be done. Because he is Mahinda Rajapaksa. The truthfulness of those circulating rumors is not exactly as stated. However, he has been admitted to the hospital for his medical treatments and tests under normal circumstances. I cannot say anything about these various false rumors circulating, because I spoke with him this morning as well. Therefore, all I can say is that these very bad rumors circulating are false.”
Attorney Manoj Gamage stated this while addressing the media today (12) in Colombo.
