Photos of Shiranthi, who evaded the FCID, shopping disguised in Singapore have also leaked.

Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa was summoned on the 24th of last month to appear before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to give a statement regarding alleged financial irregularities and money transfers in a bank account related to the 'Siriliya Saviya' organization. However, she left Sri Lanka on the 16th of last month at 01:10 AM on Singapore Airlines flight SQ-469. Her lawyer, Manoj Gamage, who is also the media spokesperson for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, stated that it was not an 'escape' but a temporary departure for a few days to receive treatment for a heart condition, and that she would return on the 18th and appear before the FCID on the 24th.

However, she did not return on the 18th and remains in Singapore even after the 24th. A new story has emerged stating that she underwent eye surgery in Singapore, and her lawyer has informed that she cannot appear before the relevant police division on the 24th as her eye requires rest and protection for several days after medical treatment, hence she is still abroad. Furthermore, the letter emphasized that she would appear for the investigations as soon as she completes her overseas treatment and returns to the island. It was stated that she would receive further treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, but such details have not been certified and presented. 

However, photographs released on social media on the 18th showed her shopping with another woman near the famous shopping complex located at '313@somerset, Orchard Rd, Singapore 238895' on Orchard Road, Singapore.

Subsequently, yesterday (25), more photos of her shopping disguised as a Muslim woman were released on social media. Accordingly, social media users have initiated a discussion that she has 'lied' and deceived the police. If she traveled to Singapore on a tourist visa, it would be difficult for her to stay there for more than 30 days, similar to how Gotabaya Rajapaksa previously fled the country and stayed in Singapore for 30 days. (After that, Gotabaya moved to Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa.)

Despite numerous investigations and charges against her, responsible authorities failed to obtain a court order preventing her from traveling abroad, thus allowing her to easily leave the country. Shiranthi Rajapaksa did not travel alone but with Mr. Rohitha Rajapaksa's mother-in-law and security personnel, leaving Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa behind in the country. This has raised doubts as to whether her departure was solely for medical treatment.

It is undeniable that the Rajapaksas have acted in a highly organized manner and with expert advice during various crises or criminal allegations in the past. Currently, with the re-emergence of the Lasantha Wickrematunge murder investigations, the use of Siriliya Saviya vehicles in the murder places her in an uncertain position of being entangled in further lawsuits.

Meanwhile, several unconfirmed internet reports have stated that a group, including the youngest son of the Rajapaksa family, is making strenuous efforts to prevent her arrest. Attempts were made to prevent her arrest by submitting a humanitarian request to the President through individuals close to him and certain Buddhist monks, but these interventions have failed. It is also said that as a last resort, preparations are being made to facilitate her stay in another country without returning to Sri Lanka.

The actions of Arjun Mahendran, who is accused in the Central Bank bond scam and is living in Singapore under a changed identity, have set a precedent for this.
