Husband who shared nude photos to take revenge on his divorced wife gets into trouble

In connection with an incident of releasing a woman's nude photos to social media, a suspect has been arrested by the Kandy sub-unit of the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department. Acting on a complaint received by the Computer Crime Investigation Division, a police team made this arrest yesterday (03) afternoon in the Ginigathhena area.

The person arrested is a 36-year-old resident of the Ginigathhena area. The suspect, who was married to the complainant woman, later legally separated from her, and preliminary investigations conducted so far have revealed that this crime was committed after the separation.

He committed this act with the intention of revenge against her, distributing her nude photos that he possessed while they were married, to cause her embarrassment. The person was arrested after the woman filed a complaint with the police. Interrogations are being conducted with the relevant suspect regarding the incident, and further investigations are being carried out by the Kandy Computer Crime Investigation Sub-unit.
