Grenade attack on the house of underworld Tharindu in Kalubowila

Two unknown individuals, who arrived on a scooter-type motorcycle, launched a hand grenade attack on a house located in Kalubowila, Wimalasiri Road area, belonging to the Kohuwala Police Division, yesterday (09) around 11.45 PM, and then fled.

The suspects threw the hand grenade inside through the main gate of the house, and upon its explosion, the glass of two front windows of the house was damaged. At the time of the attack, only a 56-year-old woman was present inside the house, and neither she nor any other person was harmed in the incident.

Police investigations have revealed that the house subjected to this attack belongs to Tharindu Ravishan, a friend of Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Avishka Eshan, a large-scale drug trafficker. Information has also been revealed that he has maintained close ties with the followers of the said drug trafficker.

Kohuwala Police are conducting further investigations to identify and arrest the suspects who carried out the hand grenade attack and fled.
