Aravinda loses 20 million after standing bail for his wife's sister.

Fort Magistrate Pasana Amarasekara today (30) ordered the forfeiture of bail for Priyanka Neomali, wife of Kapila Chandrasena, the former executive officer of the airline company and a suspect in the investigations related to the controversial Airbus deal.

Former veteran cricketer Aravinda de Silva and his wife Priyangi Neomali Weeranakye appeared as sureties for the suspect in court, and since the suspect has been evading court, an order has been issued to forfeit their bail.

Warrants have already been issued against the suspect for evading court in connection with the incident, and the sureties, Aravinda de Silva and his wife, appeared in open court today.

Previously, the suspect was released on bail in connection with the case on two personal bails of Rs. 20 million each.

Accordingly, the entire amount will be forfeited, and the lawyer who appeared in court for the sureties stated that Rs. 20 million of that amount would be paid to the court today itself.

Considering all the facts presented, the Magistrate ordered that the said sum of Rs. 20 million be handed over to the court today itself.

Furthermore, the Magistrate further ordered the sureties to pay the remaining Rs. 20 million that is to be forfeited by October 17.
