A part of the building collapsed, suspending work at the Colombo District Court.

Due to a part of a building located within the Colombo District Court complex collapsing last Saturday (29), court proceedings did not take place yesterday (31). Furthermore, sources state that with this incident, vehicles will not be allowed to enter the Colombo District Court complex.

All court cases scheduled for hearing on Monday are set to be called on September 30, 2026. Judges will inform the public in due course about how court proceedings will be conducted in the future.

Additionally, it is reported that if any interim injunctions need to be extended, arrangements can be made by submitting a request to the Registrar of the Court.
