A brawl at a drunken party in the Mirihana Police Single Officers' Quarters

A police constable was injured in an assault during a liquor party held in a room on the ground floor of the Mirihana Headquarters Police single quarters complex. It has been revealed that four officers, including a Chief Police Inspector, participated in this incident, which occurred on the night of the 22nd.

Following this altercation, the Chief Police Inspector who was present at the party, as well as a police sergeant, left the scene without prior notification to senior police officers. Furthermore, arrangements have been made to present the Sub-Inspector, who is said to have joined the party, and the injured constable to the Judicial Medical Officer at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital in South Colombo to ascertain whether they had consumed alcohol at the time of the incident.

A senior police officer stated that disciplinary inquiries have been initiated against all four officers involved in the incident, including those who left the police premises without authorization. Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by a special investigation team from the Mirihana Headquarters Police.
