Wife acid-attacked over husband's dispute

Horana Headquarters Police state that a 29-year-old woman, who sustained serious injuries in an acid attack in the Horana, Akkara 35 area, has been admitted to the Horana District General Hospital. This acid attack occurred as a result of a conflict that escalated from an argument between two groups.

However, police investigations have revealed that the woman was not involved in any way when the dispute occurred.

The incident originated from an assault on one person during an argument between two groups. Subsequently, the assaulted person went to the house of the person who attacked him, carrying a bottle of acid. At that time, the attacker was not at home, and as a result, the suspect launched the acid attack on the attacker's wife, who was present at the house.

Three suspects, including the person who carried out the acid attack related to this incident, have been arrested by the Horana Headquarters Police. The arrested individuals are three persons aged 30, 28, and 27, residents of the Horana, Akkara 34 area. The arrested suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Horana Magistrate's Court, and the Horana Headquarters Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
