Former Minister Johnston Fernando states that Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa has been summoned to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) because the government cannot tolerate the public power that has built up around him.

Speaking to the media today (21) when Mr. Namal Rajapaksa arrived at the FCID, the former minister stated that this is an unsuccessful attempt by the government in the face of the MP's success, and that the government will face the consequences of these actions in the future.

Stating that he and his team have committed no wrongdoing and are ready to face any investigation without fear, he further commented as follows.

“When they ask us to come, we come. Since we haven't done anything wrong, we face these without fear. This is nothing new. This is purely an unsuccessful attempt by the government, unable to tolerate the crowds that gather for Mr. Namal Rajapaksa when they see them. The government will fall further. There will be consequences for these actions in the future…”
