S7, the newest airline arriving in Sri Lanka from December

S7 Airlines, a leading Russian airline, has taken steps to launch a new international flight service connecting Sri Lanka and Russia's Siberian region starting next December. The airline's official website confirms that these flights, operating between Novosibirsk, Siberia, and Colombo, are scheduled to commence on December 20, 2026.

This new air connection will enable Russian tourists visiting Sri Lanka to easily reach popular coastal and tourist destinations such as Hikkaduwa, Bentota, and Trincomalee. These flights are organized to operate twice a week, every Thursday and Sunday.

Flights departing from Novosibirsk's Tolmachevo Airport at 5:15 AM on Thursdays and 5:00 AM on Sundays will arrive at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport by 1:40 PM on the same day. The return flights from Colombo will depart at 2:50 PM on those same days, with the aircraft expected to reach Novosibirsk around 2:15 AM the following day.

During this journey, a technical refueling stop will be made in Jaipur, India, and passengers are not required to disembark the aircraft for this. The total duration of this journey is approximately 10 hours.
