Horana's former organizer of Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Mr. Charith Abeysinghe, stated that he would never again stand up for individuals who do not stand by him in times of sorrow or trouble.
He also stated that there is no point in dealing with such people. He said that the party and some political organizations made him a culprit even before he was convicted in court, and that it was a regrettable matter. Mr. Abeysinghe stated that when some people tried to attack him, it was his team members who helped him the most, and only a limited number of people like Varuna genuinely stood up for him.
He also mentioned that such things are good lessons for everyone.
He said that if he had pursued art, he would have had a great journey, but because he entered politics, he fell into such a predicament. He mentioned that there were people within the party who unconditionally stood up for him, and he was grateful to them. He also said that during his thirty-five days in prison, about twenty-five members of parliament from all parties came to visit him. Mr. Charith Abeysinghe made these statements during a media inquiry.
