Indian opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has commented on the heated dispute with Sri Lankan fast bowler Asitha Fernando during the second Test match between Sri Lanka and India at the SSC Ground in Colombo.

He says that if anyone crosses the line, India is ready to fight back and respond.

Jaiswal made these comments in response to a video where renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle had expressed his views on whether the Indian batsman had crossed the line in the incident. Jaiswal, requesting not to make decisions about this without knowing what Asitha Fernando told him, noted that it should be pointed out that if someone crosses the line, India will fight back and respond.

This heated situation arose when Asitha Fernando managed to dismiss Jaiswal, who had scored 45 runs on the first day of the match. In response to Asitha's aggressive behavior after taking the wicket, Jaiswal turned back and confronted the fast bowler face-to-face, after which other players, including Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya de Silva, intervened to separate the two.

Commenting on the incident, Indian batting coach Sitanshu Kotak stated that Jaiswal should not have gone so close to the fast bowler. However, he further added that the bowler might have said something, and such things can happen suddenly in the heated atmosphere of a match.
