A 12-year-old child died after falling through a gap in the rooftop swimming pool of the Dematagoda apartment.

An unfortunate incident has been reported where a 12-year-old boy died after falling from a 14-story housing complex located in Dematagoda, Colombo 09. Information regarding this accident, which occurred on the afternoon of August 16, has been received by the Maradana Police Station.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that the child was with several other children near the swimming pool on the top floor of the building, enjoying the scenery. At that moment, the child suddenly fell to the ground from an uncovered open section on that floor.

The child who unfortunately died was a resident of Colombo 09. Maradana Police are conducting further investigations into how the accident occurred and related matters.
