If you have a habit of using your mobile phone in the toilet, you might think twice about it after reading this article. A recent study has revealed that mobile phones act as carriers for a large number of bacteria that can be harmful to the human body.

Scientific tests have confirmed that, especially after using phones in the toilet, the amount of bacteria on them increases by 65 times more than the normal level.

Five individuals participated in this research, and the bacterial concentration on their phones was examined before and after they were taken into the toilet. Several types of bacteria were identified, including Staphylococci, which commonly live on the skin and in the environment, as well as bacterial species capable of causing food poisoning and serious infections.

Experts believe that when a toilet is flushed, germ-laden airborne droplets settle in the surrounding area, and their deposition on mobile phones facilitates the spread of infections. Therefore, regular cleaning of mobile phone surfaces is essential, and it is advisable to use a disinfectant containing 70% alcohol and a microfiber cloth for this purpose. Health guidelines also state that bacterial infections can be minimized by avoiding sharing phones with others and refraining from using phones while cooking or eating.
