Deploying informants to control prison clashes and methods of periodically transferring prisoners

A group of nearly a thousand intelligence officers has been newly deployed to subtly observe and report on the behavior patterns of inmates, with the aim of preventing various conflict situations occurring within prisons. The main task of these intelligence teams is to investigate and provide information on violent acts by prisoners, conspiracies they organize, and their connections with external underworld gangs.

Additionally, as a measure to prevent inmates from forming gangs within prisons, the government has taken steps to periodically transfer them to other prisons instead of keeping them in the same location for extended periods. According to the Ministry of Justice and the Department of Prisons, there are currently approximately 42,000 inmates in the country's prison system, among whom over 817 prisoners have been sentenced to death for various reasons, including serious crimes.

The government has further instructed intelligence agencies to maintain strict vigilance over underworld operatives who direct various irregularities and conspiracies from within prisons. Meanwhile, Prison Media Spokesperson, Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Anuruddha Gajanaike, stated that various measures are also being taken to control the severe overcrowding in prisons.
