Boralesgamuwa Police have launched a comprehensive investigation into an incident where a 'ninja-like' gang, with their faces covered, broke into a massage center located on the Piliyandala-Colombo road in Boralesgamuwa, brutally assaulted its owner, and robbed cash and property worth millions of rupees before fleeing. Several police teams have already launched operations to apprehend the suspected perpetrators.
The police state that this armed gang forcibly snatched a gold chain and pendant worth approximately seven hundred thousand rupees from the neck of the massage center owner, and also robbed 116,500 rupees he had. In addition, they stole 205,000 rupees from a foreign woman who was there, and severely damaged various items and property worth about 850,000 rupees belonging to the establishment.
The owner of this establishment, which employs a Thai national woman and two local women, told the police that he was asleep around 2:00 AM on the 10th when he heard a sound of items falling and woke up. He stated in his complaint that at that moment, a group of about ten people with their faces completely covered, armed with machetes and poles, broke into the room where he and the Thai woman were sleeping and assaulted them, and due to their faces being covered, he could not identify anyone.
The victimized owner also revealed to the police that previously, on the 21st of last month, a person named 'Madiwelawatte Panuwa' had called him and threatened that he would not be allowed to operate this massage center. The complainant, who was injured in the attack, called the '1990 Suwasariya' ambulance service after the incident and was admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The brutal gang smashed and destroyed numerous items in the massage center, including doors, windows, partition walls, toilet commodes, television sets, blenders, rice cookers, and cupboards. Furthermore, with the intention of concealing their identity, they removed the DVR recorder part of the CCTV camera system installed in the establishment before fleeing. Boralesgamuwa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
