A hawk tried to abduct the child

The father and neighbors have successfully saved the life of a five-year-old boy who was playing in the yard of a house in the Navimana area of Matara, from a large eagle that attempted to snatch him. The preschool child, who sustained scratch injuries in this unexpected incident that occurred on the 20th, was immediately admitted to the Matara General Hospital.

Hearing the sudden cry of the small child who was playing alone in the garden of their house, the father immediately rushed out and saw a huge eagle attempting to snatch the child and fly upwards. The father immediately acted, hitting the eagle and managing to free the child from its grasp, after which the child was hospitalized for treatment with the help of local residents.

A spokesperson for the Matara General Hospital, commenting on the incident, stated that the child was severely traumatized by the eagle's attack. After receiving initial treatment and medication from the hospital staff, the child was discharged and sent back home.

Commenting on this, the child's grandfather stated that it was as if by a stroke of luck that the child's life was saved because his son rushed out and acted instantly upon hearing the child's screams. He further added that he had never seen such a large eagle in his lifetime and that after the incident, the child is still experiencing severe fear and a feverish condition.
