Two buses collided at Thalalla, Matara; 40 hospitalized

Nearly 40 people have been injured in a severe road accident involving two private buses colliding head-on in the Talalla, Vajira Wansa Mawatha area on the Tangalle - Matara main road.

Gandara Police state that a private bus traveling from Galle to Ampara and another private bus traveling from Tangalle towards Matara collided with each other.

A large number of people, including the drivers of both buses, were injured in the accident, and steps have been taken to admit them to hospitals immediately. Accordingly, 25 of the injured have been admitted to Matara General Hospital, and another 15 to Talalla and Bathigama Hospitals.

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Gandara Police Station.
