The person who brought alcohol to visit Mahindananda, who is in prison, has been arrested.

The Maligakanda Magistrate's Court has granted bail to a person who allegedly attempted to carry liquor to visit former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage, who is detained at Welikada Prison. The suspect released on bail was taken into custody by prison officials while attempting to smuggle prohibited items into the prison.




After being arrested by prison authorities, this person was handed over to the Borella Police Station for further investigations. Subsequently, the police presented the suspect before the court, where the Magistrate, after considering the facts, ordered his release on two personal bails of two hundred thousand rupees each.

The police reported to the court that the suspect had planned to fill a soft drink bottle with liquor and secretly take it into the prison premises. However, during a search conducted by alert prison officials at that time, they managed to apprehend the suspect, thwarting this subtle attempt.
