Gamanpila, Wimal and Dilith obstruct the Easter investigation! - CID informs Fort Court

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officially informed the Fort Magistrate's Court yesterday (8) that former National Intelligence Chief Suresh Sallay is deliberately acting with the aim of disrupting the highly sensitive and crucial investigations currently underway regarding the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

Investigating officers emphasized before the court that he is attempting to prevent witnesses from revealing facts in the future. The department further pointed out that the suspect Suresh Sallay has refrained from providing any positive cooperation for the investigations since his arrest.

Meanwhile, it has been presented that the alleged hunger strike by the suspect was also a planned act to hinder the investigations. According to reports issued by the Police Hospital, he intentionally refrained from eating until his blood sugar level dropped. The Criminal Investigation Department reported to the court that after the Medical Director of the Police Hospital thoroughly examined the suspect on two occasions and confirmed his blood sugar level had dropped, steps were taken with great responsibility to admit him to the Colombo National Hospital.

Against a backdrop where many critical and important facts are being revealed through these investigations, information has also come to light about an organized political conspiracy operating with the aim of creating strong hatred and displeasure among the public towards the Criminal Investigation Department. The special report submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department to the court clearly states that political leaders Udaya Gammanpila, Wimal Weerawansa, and Dilith Jayaweera are directly involved in this planned operation launched to break the credibility of the Police Department and create public opposition. The process led by these leaders, mobilizing the public to intimidate witnesses and completely cripple the investigation structure, has also been severely criticized by the government.
