Due to a sudden breakdown, water supply to several areas in Colombo will be cut off until night.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has taken steps to implement a special water cut today (05) due to a sudden fault or breakdown in a main pipeline transporting water from Ambatale to Kolonnawa. Due to this unexpected situation, the relevant authorities have announced that the piped water supply to the affected areas will be suspended until approximately 8:00 PM tonight.

This emergency water cut has affected several densely populated areas belonging to the Colombo District. Accordingly, water supply will be limited today to the Kolonnawa Urban Council area as well as several adjacent urban zones. The Water Supply Board further emphasizes that the water supply will be disrupted for consumers residing in areas such as Moragasmulla, Rajagiriya, Nawala, and Obesekarapura.
